September 11, 2010 - Shrimp Fest

September 11, 2010 - Indian Summer Festival

September 11 - 12, 2010 - Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride
- The Bike MS: Historic New Bern Ride is a two-day cycling event that raises over $1.5 million for the National MS Society. With three route options including a 30, 75 and 100 mile route, Bike MS appeals to over 2,100 cyclists making it the largest cycling event in the entire state. September 18, 2010 - Hatteras Island Day at the Docks
- Hatteras Island is gearing up for Day at the Docks - A Celebration of Hatteras Island Watermen. The celebration will run from 10 AM to 5 PM along the harbor in Hatteras Village. Historic boats representing several of North Carolina's oldest fisheries will line the site of the celebration. In addition to shad boats, beach dories, and mullet skiffs, modern commercial fishing vessels and charter boats will be on display, and guests can tour the United States Coast Guard's 47' motor lifeboat. Commercial fishermen and charter-boat captains will share stories describing what it's like to make a living from the sea. Watermen will also demonstrate how they use different types of fishing gear, and will compete in contests measuring their speed in the skills they use every day. Seafood experts will teach the best way to fillet fish and pick crabs, and how to prepare traditional island dishes. Children and their parents are invited to join in on the fun, including a fish identification game, hard crab races and a scavenger hunt. There is no admission fee for Day at the Docks. September 25 - 26, 2010 - North Carolina Spot Festival
- The two-day Spot Festival celebrates the spot fish, a staple of Hampstead in Pender County! The highlight is the Spot Dinners with all the fixings along with other regional food. September 28 - October 2, 2010 - Annual Chowan County Fair
- The Chowan County Regional Fair is good, clean, wholesome family fun. Located at the American Legion Post 40 on West Queen Street in Edenton, NC, the Fair offers rides for big and small, a variety of delicious foods, exhibits of local talent, and professional entertainment. The emphasis of the fair is on education of young and old through exhibits and displays. Free parking is available with tram rides to and from the parking lot and the Fair gates provided by the Edenton and Rocky Hock Lions Clubs.
