June 29 - August 5, 2010 - Duck Summer Music Series - Duck Town Stage. 6 p.m. This popular evening concert series returns for its fourth season. For six weeks, local musical groups will take the stage at the Duck Town Park Gazebo. The concerts are from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. and are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from June 29 through August 5.

May 28 - August 20, 2010 - The Lost Colony Outdoor Symphonic Drama - 8 pm showtime. “The Lost Colony” is America’s first and longest running outdoor symphonic drama, telling the story of Sir Walter Raleigh’s attempts to colonize English America from 1584 – 1590. The Lost Colony is America’s first great historical mystery and includes the story of Virginia Dare, first English child born in America. For more info call (252) 473-3414.
August 4 - 5, 2010 - Hatteras Island Arts & Craft Guild Art Show - Buxton, SC. The Hatteras Island Arts & Craft Guild presents a "Summer Show". The location will be in the Cape Hatteras Secondary School. Times are 10:00 am til 4:00 pm. Free admission, food and a scholarship raffle. Local artists.For more information call (252)441-1850.
August 13 - 15, 2010 - Annual Roanoke Island American Indian Cultural Festival & Powwow - Held at the Airport Pavilion Lawn located on Airport Road across from the NC Aquarium, Manteo, NC, the grounds open to the public at 10 am for educational displays and the sale of American Indian crafts. Come and enjoy this wonderful native experience as tribes gather on ancestral grounds to celebrate and share our culture on the west side of Roanoke Island along the tranquil waters of the Croatan Sound. This event will feature a gathering of American Indian tribes from across the nation dressed in tribal regalia, traditional and contemporary American Indian music, dance, visual arts, storytelling, back wood survival demos, crafts and health screenings while learning about various dances and the regalia worn. At various times during the day, the Master of Ceremonies will invite the public to participate in social dances. Educational displays will exhibit artifacts used and items traded by the American Indians. American Indian foods as well as other festival foods will be available for purchase. Additionally, all veterans and servicemen and servicewomen will be honored. All native drummers, dancers, traders and food vendors are welcome. For more information call (757)477-3589.
August 18, 2010 - Virginia Dare Faire - Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, Manteo, Dare County. Celebrate Virginia Dare’s birthday. Attend a full day of free activities for the family that include make and take crafts; games; entertainment, activities, free cake and ice cream. August 28 - 31, 2010 - Harbor Arts Festival - The Harbor Arts Festival is an annual outdoor judged show for artists, photographers and master craftsmen. Under the umbrella of the Arts of the Albemarle (AOA) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, the Festival is a celebration of fine arts on the banks of the Pasquotank River. The Festival is a family-oriented show and work exhibited must be in keeping with this environment. The Festival will feature artists at work and traditional craft demonstrations during the two days.
