May 28 – August 20, 2010 - The Lost Colony Outdoor Symphonic Drama - 8 pm showtime. “The Lost Colony” is America’s first and longest running outdoor symphonic drama, telling the story of Sir Walter Raleigh’s attempts to colonize English America from 1584 – 1590. The Lost Colony is America’s first great historical mystery and includes the story of Virginia Dare, first English child born in America. For more info call (252) 473-3414.
June 29 - August 5, 2010 - Duck Summer Music Series - Duck Town Stage. 6 p.m. This popular evening concert series returns for its fourth season. For six weeks, local musical groups will take the stage at the Duck Town Park Gazebo. The concerts are from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. and are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from June 29 through August 5.

July 4, 2010 - Roanoke Island 4th of July Celebration - 8 pm at the Roanoke Island Outdoor Pavilion, Friday, FREE! Happy Birthday, America! Don’t miss this spectacular July 4th tradition on the Outer Banks! Roanoke Island Festival Park invites you to honor our nation’s independence and freedom with an evening of patriotic music and dazzling fireworks. July 4, 2010 - Rodanthe Independence Day Celebration - Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Community Building, 23186 Myrna Peters Dr., Rodanthe, NC. 3:30 p.m. The seventh annual Independence Day Celebration, sponsored by the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Civic Association, features patriotic music, community singing and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. July 4, 2010 - Ocracoke Fourth of July - Fun for the family from 9 am until the fire works at 9 pm. Please note: Personal Fireworks are Illegal on Ocracoke.
July 5, 2010 - Town of Duck Fourth of July Parade - Duck’s annual Fourth of July Parade will be held on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 9:00 a.m., with an after-event following at the Duck Town Park featuring music by Ruth Wyand & Friends. PLEASE NOTE that the parade is being held on Monday, July 5, 2010 so as not to conflict with weekend summer traffic. The one-mile parade route is the same annually and begins at Scarborough Lane and continues down Ocean Way and then Christopher Drive. For registration information, contact the Town at (252) 255-1234
July 6 - 8, 2010 - Corolla Wild Horse Days - The Corolla Wild Horse Days enlightens the awareness of the treasured wild mustang horses that roam free in the four wheel drive area of the Northern Outer Banks. Sponsored by the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. Admission and parking are free. Food concessions are available and children's activities are planned. July 8 - 9, 2010 - Hatteras Island Quilters Quilt Show - 12-8 pm at the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club, 47231 Light Plant Road, Buxton, NC. View quilts and purchase a raffle ticket to win a handmade quilt. Proceeds benefit the Angler's Club Scholarship Fund. For more information call (252)305-1606.
July 24 - 25, 2010 - Knotts Island Peach Festival - The Peach Festival is an annual celebration of the agricultural community on Knotts Island. For two days the community park is full of food and crafts vendors, entertainers, and visitors. Thousands show up. Its practical function is that of a fund raiser to support the community work done by the local Ruritan Club. Parking is free. At the gate, there is a $5.00 admission fee (donation). Children under 12 are admitted for free when accompanied by paying adults. This price will admit you to the Wildlife Festival as well. There is food and drink available for sale from various vendors and crafters and artists have their goods for sale. For more information, email peachfestival@knottsislandonline.com
