May 28 – August 20, 2010 - The Lost Colony Outdoor Symphonic Drama
- 8 pm showtime. “The Lost Colony” is America’s first and longest running outdoor symphonic drama, telling the story of Sir Walter Raleigh’s attempts to colonize English America from 1584 – 1590. The Lost Colony is America’s first great historical mystery and includes the story of Virginia Dare, first English child born in America. For more info call (252) 473-3414.


June 4 - 6, 2010 - Ocracoke Folk Festival and Howard Street Craft Fair
- A weekend of free festivities on Ocracoke Island with artisan booths, live performances by musicians and storytellers, and demonstrations and workshops throughout the day. This festival combines celebration with a recognition, appreciation, education and nurturing of the unique culture and natural environment of Ocracoke Island. June 5, 2010 - Annual Dare Days Celebration
- 10:00am to 9:00pm. Dare Days is an annual celebration of the people and history of Dare County. FREE and open to all residents and visitors alike. Services including food vendors, artisan crafts, aero fly-over, awesome street dance, all-day family entertainment, an information booth and more. Call 252-475-5629 or for more information.


June 12, 2010 - Fishing and Crabbing Rodeo
- Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. The only day of the year North Pond is open to fishing and crabbing! A free prize drawing is open to all children 12 and under. Call (252) 987-1118 for more information.


June 12, 2010 - Hoe Down Barn Dance
- Chowan Arts Council - Hoe Down Barn Dance at the Bond Home - Shelton Farm. Have a great time dancing to the Outer Banks Bluegrass Band Out in the Cold at Lin & Amelia Bond's home. For more information call (252) 482-8005.


June 12, 2010 - Kinnakeet Fish Fry
- 5-7 pm at the Avon Fire Station, 40159 Harbor Rd, Avon, NC. Fried fish dinner featuring locally caught fish by Kinnakeet watermen. Proceeds benefit the civic association programs. For more information call (252)995-5651.


June 18 - 19, 2010 - Edenton Music & Water Festival
- 10am - 6:30 pm at the Edenton Waterfront. Come and enjoy sanctioned canoe and kayak races, sailboat races, free paddling demonstrations and guiding, entertainment by talented musicians, delicious foods and fun for the whole family. For more information call (800)775-0111 or (252)482-3400.


June 23 - 24, 2010 - Whalehead Club Arts Festival
- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Enjoy an annual outdoor art show on the grounds of Currituck Heritage Park with over 100 quality artists, local musicians, food concessions, and children's activities. Admission is free - $5 parking donation requested. Proceeds from this festival support the Whalehead Preservation Trust. For more information call (252) 453-9040.


June 29 - August 5, 2010 - Duck Summer Music Series
- Duck Town Stage. 6 p.m. This popular evening concert series returns for its fourth season. For six weeks, local musical groups will take the stage at the Duck Town Park Gazebo. The concerts are from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. and are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from June 29 through August 5.
