April 9, 2010 - Children’s Fun Faire - Wright Brothers National Memorial Pavilion. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Designed especially for kids, this Fun Faire offers a wide variety of entertaining, hands-on, and exciting educational activities. It is that time of year where the itch to ride is driving everyone crazy. Get you motorcycle out, give it a nice bath, polish up the chrome, and head for Outer Banks Bike Week. Packed full with entertainment, great food, events and special attractions. Poker Run, Bike Show, Live Music, Scenic Rides, Official Night-time party sites. April 22, 2010 - Red Wolf Howling Safari - 7:00 PM - Earth Day. Join Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge staff on a Howling Safari for an unforgettable evening! Learn about endangered red wolves, found only in the wilds of northeastern North Carolina, and get the chance of a lifetime to hear their harmonious howls. Meet at Creef Cut Wildlife Trail at the intersection of Milltail Road and Highway 64 (approximately 15 minutes from Manteo). REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! VISIT our secure web site at www.redwolves.com or call (252)796-5600 The non-refundable program fee is $5.00 per person. Children under 5 years old are free. Program capacity is 100 people. Register early to save your spot. Non-registered participants may be turned away due to the program capacity limit. Programs typically last two hours. Howling will be cancelled due to lightning, heavy wind or rain. The decision to cancel will be made no later than 1 ½ hours before the howling start time.
